Subscription & Log-In Questions
I just enrolled. When will I receive my subscription?A Welcome Email with your Member ID is sent automatically by the system. You should receive it within a few minutes, an hour at the most depending upon your email server. If you do not receive it do not sign up again - you do not need it to use the site. You may log in to ChecklistComplete.com using the email account and password used to enroll.
How do I subscribe? Sign up on the Join Today! page by clicking on the Mail-In Enrollment Form or a PayPal button to select your subscription term. We don't ask for much information, so the process starts there.
How do I log in?You may log in via the link under the "Membership" button or whenever you select a members' only page for viewing. You may use your email address, your Member ID or your "Handle" + your password.
How do I log in without having received the Welcome message?Make sure you enter the same email address you used to sign up on the "Email Address" line of the Login page. Do not fill in "Member ID" or "Handle". You do not need to fill in anything else except your password.
I log in, but I still can't get to the member's pages.You must have cookies enabled for this website. ChecklistComplete.com puts a "session" cookie in your cookie file that tells the site that you have logged in. If you do not have cookies enabled, then ChecklistComplete.com can not find the necessary cookie so will deny access to the members' pages.
I forgot my password. How do I find it?On any log in page, click the appropriate link, or click Here. You must provide the same email address you used when you signed up. Your password will be sent immediately, but this email may have the same problems getting through as your Welcome Email.
How do I change my password or email address?You may change your password, email address or personal information at any time after you successfully log in. Click the appropriate link and it will take you to the correct page.
I have a question, but I don't see the answer here.Please send us an email with your questions. We'll get back to you as soon as we possibly can! The Webmaster is a pilot for a major airline.
What is the difference between a member and a subscriber?Nothing - the words are used interchangeably.
I want to cancel my subscription.Please go to your PayPal account and cancel your recurring payment. (See more details under PayPal FAQs.
 
Email
Why didn't I receive my Welcome Email?Some email programs have very aggressive spam filters. Services such as Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail and Earthlink have Spam Blocker tools that may prevent our Welcome Email from reaching your Inbox. They do a great job of filtering out this scourge of the internet and are very necessary. Unfortunately, some spam blockers think automatically-generated email from ChecklistComplete.com is spam, so they delete it before you get a chance to receive it.
How can I ensure I receive emails from you?Add ChecklistComplete.com to your email whitelist (list of approved mailers).
I am an AOL, Yahoo or Hotmail subscriber and can't get any of your emails.Add ChecklistComplete.com to your email whitelist (list of approved mailers). AOL, Yahoo and Hotmail have very aggressive spam filters. Some of our emails are auto-generated, so they are mistaken for spam. Please see our comments about Internet Pestilence below.
I sent you an email with a question, but haven't heard from you yet.There can be a number of reasons you have not received a timely reply but these are the two most likely:
- The webmaster is a pilot and she is out on a trip.
- Your spam filter won't allow the reply through to your Inbox.
How can I find your email messages to me that my email service thinks is junk or spam?You may be able to locate it in the "Junk Email" or "Spam" folder of your email account. You will have to use the webmail service of your email provider to do this. Suspected junk/spam will not be downloaded into Outlook, Eudora or other PC-based email programs. Don't forget to add ChecklistComplete.com to your email whitelist (list of approved mailers).
 
PayPal & Billing Questions
Why is PayPal billing me twice?PayPal will bill you twice if you signed up twice. Please do not do this. If you did it by mistake, please cancel the SECOND subscription, not the first.
Why is PayPal billing me every month?ChecklistComplete.com is a subscription service much like a magazine. If you selected monthly payments, you will be charged monthly.
How do I cancel my subscription?Log in to your PayPal account, then click the "Details" link under the "Subscription Creation" entry on your activity log. At the bottom of the page, you will see a button that says "Cancel My Subscription". Click this and verify (do you really want to do this...) and the subscription is cancelled. Paypal will notify us of your cancellation.
Why do you use PayPal?We are a small company, so do not have the credit card merchant account needed to directly take payments over the internet. PayPal charges a small fee to process payments, which is worth it as they are very secure, fast and reliable.
 
Membership Considerations
What do you offer that I can't get elsewhere?Honestly, you can probably get most of what we offer from other resources but it will take an enormous amount of time and research skill. We recommend a number of books for study and reference and urge you to read them. However, we have taken much of that information and distilled it into something an aviation professional can use. We have researched scores of publications (books, periodicals, scientific papers and corporate documents) to present the facts to you as you need them for a career as a professional pilot. We add our own personal experience and the experience of our extensive network members and human resources professionals to further refine the information for you. As an example, there are dozens of books and websites with lists of interview questions - but ours are specifically targeted to major airline and corporate flight department hiring practices.
Why should I join your site rather than your competitors?Some of our competitors are very good, and we recommend you join them, too. Links to the good ones are found in the text of the web pages. However many give you fluff, outdated gouge and baseless opinion for your money then try to sell you the stuff you really could use for even more money. We present the facts - good or bad - and try to get you the information you need up front.
I'm considering joining. When is the best time to do this?Depending on your study and networking needs, we recommend you join at least six months prior to your expected interview date and before you submit your resume. In addition to thorough guidance through the interview process, we have information for writing and refining your résumé as well as tools to get you organized to fill out application forms.
Why do you recommend so many books?Progressing successfully in any career field is very demanding and difficult. We want you to have as much information as possible. We have carefully chosen the books we recommend based on their value for career pilot professionals. All of our information is carefully researched, however by necessity it is condensed. We recommend you read those whose topics you wish to explore further. These books have all been read or reviewed by someone at ChecklistComplete.com and many were used as source documents for the information presented within.
I am interested in a topic or a company you don't cover yet. How do I get more information?Please email us with your request. We will let you know shortly if we are able to handle your request, and if so give you a time frame for answering it. Some of the best features of the website have come from members' suggestions!
You claim frequent updates and additions to your site. How can I tell what's new?User Notes is a log of changes, additions and deletions to the website.
When should I cancel my subscription?Cancel when you feel you will not need the service any more. Our aim is to help you get the job of your dreams so won't need the members' side for more than a few months. Cancellations take effect on the next billing cycle, so you will be able to continue to use your membership until the end of your billing month.
 
Internet Pestilence
Can I get a virus or anything else bad from viewing your webpages?NO! ChecklistComplete.com doesn't do anything nefarious, evil or even annoying. We are here to help you with your career progression, that is all. Our mission statement is simply "Help Others". In addition, we adhere to Google's Code of Conduct: "Don't be evil".
If I give you my email address, will I have to worry about spam?NO! ChecklistComplete.com hates spam even more than you do. The Webmaster & Server Administrator battle it constantly and totally support all efforts to eradicate spam. However, ChecklistComplete.com may wish to send emails to all members on occasion. It won't happen very often and will only contain news pertinent to all memberships. If you do not wish to receive these email notifications, please check the appropriate box when you sign up.
Do you share my information with anyone else?NO! Under no condition will we ever voluntarily share your email or other information with anyone. It would take a court order for us to do so!
How secure is my information? Can anyone else get it?NO! Our servers are secure and no outside party can capture the database.
I want to use the Personal Inventory form, but am afraid someone else can view my information.Our servers are totally secure, but that doesn't matter because they do not retain the information you type in to the form. Typing it on line then printing is just as secure as printing it out and filling it in with a pen, unless of course you leave it up on the computer for others to see. To erase your entries, hit "Refresh" and you will see a blank form.
 
Events
I am considering attending a networking luncheon. Do I need to be a member?No. Everyone interested in meeting other aviation professionals is welcome. People at all levels of the career - from managers to private pilots and some ATC - folks attend them. The purpose is an enjoyable conversation and nice meal with like-minded others!
I am considering attending an Interview Skills Review. Do I need to be a member?No, but it is highly recommended. We want you to belong to the website for at least a couple of months before you attend an ISR. The point of this is to read and internalize the information presented on the website before you put it into practice at the seminar. The seminar is to refine your skills, not learn them for the first time.
I would like someone to review my résumé. Do you do this?At this time, we only do résumé reviews in conjunction with the Interview Skills Review. If you are planning to attend an ISR, please email your résumé at least one week prior. Due to time constraints, we are not able to review them on the spot.
I would like a one-on-one interview practice. Do you do this?Not at this time. Please consider attending an Interview Skills Review Seminar.
I am unable to attend your upcoming Interview Skills Review Seminar. When will you have the next one?ISR is offered once a quarter: January, April, July and October on the second Tuesday of the month. You must make a reservation to attend ISR.
I am unable to attend the upcoming luncheon. When will you have the next one?Networking luncheons are held the second Tuesday of each month. No RVSP is necessary - come if you are available. Networking luncheons are also held during the meal break of Interview Skills Review.
I would like to attend the Interview Skills Review but note there is a charge. How do I pay for it?You can pay with cash or check at the door or online via PayPal. You will also have to pay for your meal if you choose to have one.
I would like to attend a luncheon. Is there a charge?The only expense is for the meal you order.
Why is there a dress code for your events?For two reasons:
- One, our venue requires it. The Crescent Club is a professional business/social club and as such is quasi-formal. They require business casual at a minimum: no denim, sneakers, sandals, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops or other athletic wear.
- Two, networking and interview preparation are professional business endeavors. You never know who you might meet at one of our events so it always best to be ready!
