Written Testing Reference Books

The written test may be the most difficult part of the interview. You need to start studying for it early - practice vocabulary, science, math and logic.

There are three parts to the written test: knowledge, testmanship and ability to read and apply the rules. You can be the most brilliant person on the face of the earth, but if you don't read and follow the rules for each and every section, you are likely to fail. Practice taking the Armed Forces Officer Qualification Test while being timed just to familiarize yourself with the style and pace of airline written testing.

Practice taking the test to identify your weak areas, then use other references for remedial study. Think of clever, entertaining ways to improve your knowledge of your weak areas. For example, if you are weak with vocabulary, you can read the Reader's Digest monthly vocabulary quiz and start doing crossword puzzles. Play Scrabble© with your friends and family. Don't just read endless lists of words or it will be a terrible chore.
